Beautiful Spalted Beech Blank, Eamonn.
Great Fit and Finish.
I can't decide if the Emperor was the right choice.
IMHO, I feel that the Emperor may better suit a Darker more Regal Blank to contrast to the Silver and Gold Trim of this High Level Kit.
I may well be in a Minority, but this is my reaction.
Regardless, it is a Beautiful Well Made Pen.
Congratulations,
Brian.

Some people prefer dark pens. Some people prefer light pens. It comes down to personal taste. Don't let your own taste dictate what a customer will like. I really like the combo of the wood and the kit mate. I can make 2 pens from the same kit say one in black walnut and one in holly. (both chosen for the example as they are quite plain) My mum will love the holly one and my partner will prefer the black walnut one!
