I made this Black Ti El Grande RB for my partner, UKPenmaker, in the recent 2011 Australia Day Pen Swap.

It is dressed in the bark of our local Red Ironbark tree.

Just to make it a little different I added a custom finial from the same material.

It is a beauty Fred. Job well done and, I'm sure your swap partner is pleased with it. I really like the custom finial.

Fred,

This pen is entirely outstanding...why I say has anyone ever attempted the bark of this tree like this ever...No they have not... is it like any other pen using the same kit....No it is not.

An amazing treatment to match the finial.

Simply designed mate beautifully executed, from all round it stands out represents the scenery and locality, deep and meaningful expression in your pics.

Thanks for inspiring me with your pen.

There are many members here who utilise their surrounding trees also to great effect. The grass is not always greener over the fence.

Kind regards Peter.
