Hi All,

A first pen in ebonite for me, the material is from Pipe Makers Emporium.

I think I like it…..even though I am heavy on the collar fit…well it’s mine now!;)

The kit is the Gold Titanium El Toro, I think it goes well with the red ebonite.:)

Anyway, this could be the beginning of a new pen direction for me.[:I]

Thanks Brian for the tip on finishing, worked as I expected.

Wow, that's nice! Very rich looking. I've never liked the shape of the El Toro, but now that I see it with the cap posted, the weird taper makes more sense. That's a sharp looking pen with the cap screwed on the back!

Nice work on the ebonite!

Jim, what a cool looking pen, I've heard that Ebonite is a bear to finish, but it looks like you nailed it.

I turned it with a skew, finished it the same as with my acrylics...final was Novus 2 scratch remover after MM 12,000....out side of the sulfur smell it was not too difficult:D

I love the look too, I really want some of that material!

BTW, this pen is a "cartridge" fill only, but Lou's short converters will fit them and allow you to use bottled ink.

I sell all mine with Lou's short converters now, I use this one as my own user as such with Private Reserve Naples Blue
