Hi I had been asked to make a pen for an egyptian gentleman. They wanted a foutnain pen. So I thought about it and I tried to mimic his flag which is

And this is the outcome of my efforts. This pen is made from
Norfolk hibiscus and dyed timbers from beartoothwoods.com. I would love to know your thoughts.
Thanks Toni

I also learned during the course of this pen that a flag upside down is considered and insult to there culture (this is what a website said) So I have added this note to it
This pen was made in reference to the symbolic colors of your flag.

According to ancient and heraldic traditions much symbolism is associated with the colors. The colors of the egyptian flag represents the following:
White- peace and honesty
red- hardiness, bravery, strengthe and valour
black-Determination

The gold was added in the pen in honour of the the eagle that is the centre of your flag.
I can't wait to hear your feedback.
bye Toni

beautiful pen.

after reading your post one question popped in my head.
wondering why you chose buckeye(looks like buckeye) instead of blackwood or ebony?

other than that question you did a great job on the pen.
the segments are well spaced and you cant see the glue joints.

great job
