With my Bakelite experiment out of the way, I figured I'd move on to Ebonite as well. Picked up a nice piece of Red/Black swirl Ebonite from exoticblanks.com and a Jr. Marshall kit from woodsafari.com and figured they'd make a nice combination.
This was my first time working with this kit, and my first time working with Ebonite, so I wasn't too sure what to expect. I had read all the posts and decided to break out the old jewelers lathe to start with and it did a great job with the Ebonite getting it down just proud of finished dimensions.
Moving over to the wood lathe, I finished the shaping, and sanded through to 12000 MM before applying a coat of Ultra Gloss Plastic Polish. It really shines, and exceeded my expectations for what Ebonite could look like.
Comments are always welcome, thanks for looking!
