....I received the Blanks from Scott @ Blanks Slabs and Boards some time ago and just now got around to employing them. These were built on Berea components in opposing finishes. CA finished knocked down w/Steel wool. Gives a nice texture to the feel of the pen in hand! Be well.....Jan

Those are great Jan!

Before I started turning, I'd have never believed oak could look so nice. I've sure learned a lot from Scott about where in the tree some of the best blanks hide.

Okay, they aren't really children, but I feel the same way when someone cleans me out of a species....it's my fault, should have cut more but I didn't realize exactly how good they look when turned(it takes awhile to dry this wood).

BTW, out of the four hundred or so of these I sent out....you are amongst the few that have shown me what became of them! I really like you 'knocked' the gloss off! Lets the wood be, well, WOOD!!! And the components just 'work' together!
