east asian rosewood

Made this from a piece of east asian rosewood i got from woodcraft the other day. European in gold with a osage orange centerband. Think ill give it to the paw in law for christmas. thanks for looking and any comments(bad or good) are welcome. Also this wood turned, smelled, and sanded like cocobola . Any thoughts on that?

Nice looking pen Hugo. That one of my favorite ways to modify a Euro.
As to the smell , It's been my experience that most rosewoods smell similar. Matter of fact I usually wear rubber gloves when working with Cocobolo or other rosewoods because I can't seem to get the smell off my hands. Not that it's an unplesant smell it just gets over powering after awhile.
