I've been experimenting with some wood dyes. This is one of the alcohol soluble dyes from TransTint. Is it too much? Any comments would be appreciated.

Gary,
It is far too much. If you send the pen to me I will dispose of it properly. Trust me!

Seriously, I like the stain. The background is very nice for the darker pen.

The fit and finish on the pen look great! And it looks like there would be some real depth to the wood, which is cool! My only question is, is the banding typical for Curly Maple? Or is that a by-product of the dying process?

Thanks, Jim. The curl is in the wood. The dye only colors it. This maple that I have is very curly.

Otherwise it looks great![:D]
( What color did you use?)

The color is Reddish Brown #6003. It comes as a concentrate and you dilute it to the shade you want. Thanks for looking.
