Just did this. Dyed, stabilized boxelder burl that I got in my shipment today from Arizona Silhouette. Top finish was from my new Ren wax. Thanks Bill.

Beautiful pen Kirk. The satin gold sets off the wood nicely. BTW, I'm moving to Oklahoma in a couple of weeks and will be about 1.5 hours North of Oklahoma City.

Kirk, I'm moving to Enid and will be stationed at Vance AFB. I'm told that it's about 90 minutes from Oklahoma City.

Fred. Enid is about that far from OKC. Enid is a nice town with most of the needs available, Walmart, variety of eating establishments, etc. Don't know if Home Depot or Lowes. (just did check and the closest of either is in Edmond or NW OKC). We have a Woodcraft, Hogan woods, and Harbor Freight in OKC. Keep in touch. Kirk [8D]
