This is a Curly Maple,that has been dyed with Anniline Dye by me,on lathe. Cigar from PSI,Chrome Hdw.8 coats of thin c/a. First large pen i dyed with red,i always done slimlines.

Nice color on the pen. The picture makes it look like there are some fine scratches on the finish. Did you use micromesh for the finish?

Yes i did use MM,but i started with the higher grits,i sort of wanted to keep as much as the finish on as i could.On hind sight i should have put more coats on and started in lower grits with MM. i didn`t notice any flaw with finish till i got it under camera lights.

Lights have a habit of pointing out our flaws. It is sometimes hard to wait through the last couple coats because you want to see the finished product. Nice pen though.
