Part two - a Jr Gent made from the same storied wood found here http://www.penturners.org/forum/showthread.php?t=61020&highlight=douglas+fir+burl.
I'm still trying to get the pics to show all the colors in the wood and the chatoyance the pen body has. I used a sealant on the wood then used blo/ca to give it the finish. The pieces I purchased had a few small checks but I filled them with dust and they are not noticeable. As usual, all comments are appreciated.

That's a beautiful pen. Absolutely gorgeous.
However, the blank -- while completely stunning -- hasn't the single indication of being a burl.
Very Curly redwood without a doubt, but burl?!? :confused:
Still a delicious looking pen.

Yeah, I realize the wood doesn't have any burl qualities, but with the story, in the link above, you take it with a grain of salt.
I still couldn't resist the temptation to purchase some. Thanks for the comments.
