Hi Charlie; I was certain he said it was a Big Leaf Maple in his original post!, but I have been known to be wrong once or twice in my life!

Actually, it's sort of a private joke.. when he found the wood in the terrarium,
we cut it up in my shop. Neither of us knows what it really is, but he was
pretty sure a lot of people would say it was cocobolo. So the last two
pens he's shown, I said it must be cocobolo.. :tongue:

It is 2 different colors. The burl absorbs them at different rates. Red and Blue.

I am amazed at the results folks are getting with the double dyed blanks. Some amazing things one can do with the wood.
