I'm just getting started here and not familiar with casien but that is simply gorgeous. Does it feel warm or cold to the touch ?

cool to the touch. It's a very dense material that's a joy to turn as long as you don't overheat it and your chisels are razor sharp. Cutting it smells exactly like that nasty emotion-filled smell you get when a dentist is drilling into a tooth.
