I call this a pocket pen

No center band,if you look real close you will see that the black coupler is not pressed in all the way, when the cap is screwed on the threads are tight

That's a great idea and it's a very nice pen but it's almost like a fancy dowel rod.

Very nice! Did you have to glue the coupler in place, or is there enough friction even without the CB?

That looks great. Did you Back cut the cap so the body would fit into it ever so slightly kind of like a shallow mortise and tenon. That might give a slightly tighter look. Just a thought.
