My daughter, an art student, requested a pen with dots. Dots?...I said. Dots!..she said. I said OK because it gave me an excuse to buy a cross-sliding vice. I used a FT American kit with Tulip Burl. The laid out the pattern for the dot, then used the cross-sliding vice mounted on my drill press to drill the holes. I filled the holes with bronze gold mica and CA, and finished with CA. If i do this again I'd go for a combination with more contrast. Comments always welcome.

Thanks for the feedback Jeff. Generally, I like to add some shape to my pens also, but this particular kit seems to look best with straight barrels. That Tulip Burl is some nice stuff.

I must agree that while I almost refuse to make a true BtoB pen because I prefer some curve to the barrels, the FT american kit is one that I have yet to find a curve for that looks right to my eye. As a result I tend to make a lot more euro's than FTA's. BUT.....for a BtoB pen this one is a knockout.
