Here is what turned out from (It's_ Virgil) library post.
Lessons learned from this is to put sanding sealer on the ends of the pen at the joint where it twists. That would stop the finish from bleeding into the joint and making it look darker. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful pen.
I am rubbing my head trying to guess how the ink gets changed. I reall don't see any seam/split. I know there hyas to be a turning point but I can't make it out.

Ha Ha that's funny, that is called trick photography, not really just the way I took the picture. That is the point mentioned about the finish bleeding into the joint. The seam is right under the clip and pulls apart just like any other slim line.
