Haven't been at the lathe in a while and been sold out of pens for about a month. I was inspired by seeing a corian desk set here not too long ago and decided to give it a try with a different twist. It's just scraps of whatever I could get the "Top Shop" <countertop place> to give me for free. It is 6" wide at the base, the business card holders are turned < I have no business cards, :) > . A small turned post for the pen and a bowl for candy or breath mints. I maybe spent $12 ...the american rollerball kit, the 4 little rubber feet under it and some epoxy and abrasives. I turned it with a faceplate, I just made a wood circle a bit bigger than the faceplate, screwed the faceplate into the wood, screwed the wood into the corian. The screw holes the same size as the screws for the feet...so the feet fill the holes. I sanded the bottom, but didn't bother polishing it. Thanx for the inspiration guys/gals !
