The Pen and the Holder are a combination of "Sandstone" Corian (light) and "Maui" (Dark) Corian.
The Pen is a lamination of the two Corians, with tip and finial of the "Maui".
The Base has inlays of the "Maui" ( to add a detail )

Comments always welcome.

Travis,

I used the brass sleeves in this case to assure strength for the laminations. I also used the "Cross" open/close mechanisim.

Hope these two pictures will improve the views.

i love the look of corian, and have done a bunch and have lots of stock, question, how did you get the dark stripe so thin?? did you glue up the light to dark, then run thru a table saw???

It can be done that way, but I machined the dark Corian to size in
a mill (attached a sketch) then CA'd the three pieces together.

Thanks to all for your kind comments.

I really like the pen and holder. Thanks for the drawing. I might have to find a use for that setup...mmmm. You might try using a solid colored background in your photo to help the pen and holder stand out [:)] Very artistic job on your pen/holder! Kirk [8D]

I don't usually comment on non-wood pens. But you have created something unique and artistic. I like the look. It has an 'old fashioned' feel even though the material is very modern. Your photography enhances the beauty.
