I've had this DIW blank for about four years, and was going to turn it for my PITH swap partner. Had some Chrome Barons I bought for the clips when I started going kitless. So why does upper barrel not match, you may ask? Simple....just drill it with a larger bit than is required  So....I grabbed this Birdseye Maple Burl (I think) and we have a pen. CA finish made me feel a little better. Thanks for looking.

Great recovery! nice looking pen, I think that if you split the overdrilled upper and
wrapped some duct tape around it real tight it would have held it tight, ooooorrrrr
what you did worked too.
You do build a nice pen, there are no mistakes in art.

Hey, Chuck, I think that works. You came with something new. Good mistake!
Thanks Robert, I seem to be getting better at fixing these. They keep coming.

I like it. The combo works IMO.
Thanks Jonathon!

Nice combo Chuck!

Desert Birdseye....... sounds Tactical.
LOL...I like that  Thanks Lupe

Very nice classic look. If you hadn't told us we would have thought you planned it that way.
Thanks for sharing.
