This is the first pen I've turned in nearly 3 weeks, (like Dr's know SOOOO much), The wood, I bought from Reed Kempton, This looked to be the least favorable of the lot, so I turned it first in case I screwed up, I thought IPE was a hard wood, I'd say DI will come real close in hardness, but can't catch the beauty of Iron Wood.
Double twist Cigar Pearl Silver and finished with 5 coats thin CA and two thick coats, then Renwaxed.

I finally sold my second cartridge pen so I made the last one I had, the antler got over bleached in Hydrogen Peroxide, I had to add a little color, with heat.
actually my wife sold the pen. Now I either have to get some more, or make the cartridges my self, I guess they will sell after all.

I haven't seen an Iron Wood pen, BUT, that DI is fantastic, you did a GREAT job on that. I'm really impressed. I've got a piece of DI and now I'm inspired to make a pen out of it. GREAT finish, Wow.

I have been wondering what kit to use the DI I got from Reed on...

.... NOW I know!

Great job... and great choice on a kit that really shows off that awesome wood...
