Denim Nouveau Sceptre ballpoint

This is 50 layers per inch compressed denim in epoxy. I put it on a nouveau sceptre ball point in black titanium.

This block is 4th block of denim micarta that I have made recently. Have had some good results with the setup I am using.

These are after some sanding on the rod.

This is more raw from basic roughing.

Negative on rolling. This is compression. 50 layers of 11 1/2 oz denim compressed to 1 inch. Standard brass tube from the kit.

I do that. These are just quick and dirty shots that I took of the pen. It will be on the re-shoot list for certain.

Not a CA finish by any stretch of the imagination. It is just pure denim and epoxy sanded and buffed. No need for a CA finish either. Most will tell you they like the feel of a rougher denim micarta over a glass smooth texture. You could do a CA finish I suppose but it's not needed.

Does the epoxy impregnate the denim enough the you don't get some "fuzzy" spot? 50 layers to the inch, are you using a mechanical press or hydraulic?

There is full impregnation of the epoxy. It is not going to yield you a glass like finish by no means.
