I've been turning pens for about 3 weeks now, and I really enjoy it! Here is one I did over the weekend, I made the blanks from some old blue jeans.

OK.. I like it.. but do not see a seam anywhere. Is it on the other side? I like using different things to make pens and this looks like fun

That is a very fine pen for a three week turner! One to be proud of. Keep up the good work!

Actually that is the seam side, you can see it a little on the top section. I wrapped the cloth around the tube and soaked it with CA as I went, after I turned and sanded it the seam blended in much better than I thought it would.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys! I've thought about making pens for a long time. I ran across a deal on a lathe a few weeks ago and it came with pen mandrels. I've made about 15 pens so far and I think I may be addicted! :biggrin:
