Made this one a minute ago for the widow that sent me the mountain of antler. She's also getting the cross-cut red oak pen I made earlier. CA finish, usual stuff.

I was pleasantly surprised this one turned like it did. I was expecting the messy stuff you get with the marrow and veins. It went BEAUTIFULLY during the turn. I even got ribbons off it.

Wonderful work. You made the tolerances on the waist band perfect. They match the top and bottom perfectly. Rarely do I like a contoured shape and don't see many turners trying it with antler, but you have captured my attention.
Great work, Doctor.

Nice work. Avoid the stink. When I turn or cut antler I'll wear a standard dust mask and suck on one of those red/white mints. Works for me.

Nice job! I like the shape you did too. I think that is a real good looking turned piece of antler.
