We found what might prove to be a honey hole consignment spot. The owner wants either a deer antler or pine cone pen, so I whipped this up to let her see what the antler looks like. The new tool Dad set me up on was making serious ribbons off this stuff which was pretty entertaining. I used the basic Rockler Slimline and made the centerband to go with the kit. I'm relatively happy considering I spent maybe 40 minutes on this. The consignment shop is having a holiday sales push in the next week or so, so we couldn't have found this place at a better time. Dropping off around 18 pens from $30-$65 tomorrow sometime.

Do you guys buy these as "blanks" from a supplier?

A friend of mine made one but it was from hunting.

Not to highjack this thread, but I use Spring sheds and antler from hunters. Just needs to be dry. The older the better, in my humble, uneducated opinion.

I got a huge bag of antler from my mother in law. One of her friends hunted his land for a long time before passing away. It was all kept on a wall indoors. So far I haven't had to buy any antler.
