I am not as happy about the cocobolo, but it is still pretty (IMO).

The lines at the top third of barrel is grain in the lower photo (really)

Nice Pen Mark,
Like the look of the Dayacom roller,
To me the Cocobolo Blank looks fine.
Yes it has bold colours, and that makes the grain stand out.
The reverse of the pen is significantly different to obverse, due to the small knot, but that is the nature of the wood, and it makes this pen Unique.
No other pen will look the same as this one.
Mark what Finish are you using? it seems very sedate compared to the reflection of the hardware..

Have you done much cocobolo? In a couple days (esp if you let it sit in the sun) it will "age" to a beautiful coloring that will only be made more gorgeous by the gold. That's a real nice pen.
