A day with the grandaughter

Our son and his wife went to Vegas for the week so we have our grandaughter with us. This is the first one. She did most of the turning and sanding I touched up the last little bit and put the CA finish on. I don't think she would play well with CA. The second one is still on the lathe waiting for the poly to dry over her name label. Finish it tomorrow. If things go right she will be looking for a lathe of her own out of her parents winnings in Vegas. (As if anybody ever wins there)

You obviously didn't read the first post Bob, my son went to Vegas and is winning enough to buy me the big yellow mustard lathe and she gets my little delta midi. :biggrin: I could only wish.

I had 5 of my nieces and nephews for a week and I did a similar thing. Each of them made their own pen doing as much of the work as their ability allowed, while I finished up for them. It was a great time and helped me make a special connection with each of them.

I highly recommend it to anyone. Sharing want we love with those we love, it is a wonderful feeling.
