Just a basic purple and white swirl in alumalite, just getting the hang of it. Made lots of notes for future improvements!

Looks great! The colors & swirls are nice, the pen has a good finish, and the fit looks very good. I'm sure she'll love it. I like purple/white and blue/white swirls, they're my favorite 2 color mixes.

You were smart to take notes. I've made some very cool blanks in the past that I can't replicate because I didn't take notes on the colors or technique I used to get the desired effect. It seems the best ones were by accident or when I was just experimenting, which are really the same thing.

You've got to time it right, but letting it start to gel before you mix the colors will give you the effect you're looking for. Are you mixing one batch, then pouring some off into another cup(s) to color? That will allow them to gel at the same time rather than mixing a thinner color into a thicker base or vice versa.
