Custom Yew Calligraphy Pen

All mu custom orders lately seem to have been for desk pens....must be in vogue!
Another commission for a Rotring sectioned pen, this time with a 1.9mm nib unit.
This one almost had me beat! I remade the cap a total of 4 times due to going too thin trying to put some shape in the end of it. It is "twixt &tween" where the cap meets the barrel. I couldn't make it a flush butt fit without making the barrel a few mm wider and if I made the cap go over the barrel I think the cap would have been too thick.

Couldn't find any vendors here in the states to supply nibs.....go figure? Was thinking about 'borrowing' the things you did here for the wife and I(we just took a Calligrapy class)....but after using home-spun pens for so long, everything out there just feels 'plasticy'!


The section looks very comfortable! Well done!!!
