My dental lab technician asked me to make a pen for her brother.
He is in the athletics department at EMU and she wanted something "beefy".
The kit is a Roman Harvest in rhodium w/gold accents.
The blank I segmented together out of a piece of mystery wood, a PVC card, and a custom cast green acrylic.
I engraved his name on the body of the pen and the EMU letter "E" on the cap using the Neje Laser. That turned out really nice but the pic doesn't do it justice.
For the green acrylic, I mixed up some alumalite clear and tinted it with some green mica powder and a little Pearl Ex 692 Due Green-Purple powder to try to match the school's color.
The little bit of Pearl Ex gives the green acrylic just a bit of character that is hard to pick up in the photos.
Then I added a laser etched coin with the EMU logo on one side and one of my logos on the other.
Sorry for the photos. I am still figuring out how to take a decent photo with my phone.
