I was able to get my hands on some gorgeous curly Maple, so the first obstacle was choosing which was going to be my guinea pig

I knew I wanted it on a rhodium cigar because the profile has a a nice line with the clip, so I wanted something that would compliment that. I wanted it to be slightly off center at the ends without coming up short, or popping through, before it reached the end once turned. Took some measuring and sketching on the blank but I'm pretty happy with the end result.

Thanks for looking.

Cool 'wave'!! Did the blanks ever try to come apart at the glue joint during turning?

Nice timber too!!!

Thanks, Scott :) No trouble with it. I glued the entire blank up with gorilla glue and kept it locked down for a full 24 hours, turned it with a fresh edge on my carbide tip.
