Very nice. These are on my to do list. Not sure if you have or not shared how you make your points on these. Would you consider sharing and I understand if you do not want to. Thanks for showing.

Of course I will share ... that is the way I learned.
It takes a lathe or some way to index the blank to the 4 positions needed.
A router using a 90 deg bit cuts the pockets at a taper ... in other words as the router travels from right to left it also travels into the wood.
Depth and angle is critical to the pen blank you are cutting.
I am cutting some blanks monday and can post some photos then.
After you got the pockets cut then you need to make the veneers and wood point to fill them.
All in all it is a time consuming project and $100 is not unreasonable for the amount of work that goes into making this pen.
Just scale everything up and you have a forearm blank for a pool cue.

Got two on my end that we've been working on.Very nice! Been making any cues since our last get together?
I'll bring my camera over on monday and get some shots. Its a really fun process, time consuming and a bit tedious but the end results are really nice.Very nice. These are on my to do list. Thanks Willee I would like to see the photos or video. You did a fine job with these and yes $100 is not out of the question at all.
Interesting. I would have thought the router would be oriented differently to cut with a v bit. What bit is used here?
Thanks.
