This is a Spalted Hackberry Jr. Gent that I recently completed for a customer. My standard CA/BLO finish. Comments welcome.

Think everyboby wants to know? Where did you get that blank!!!!!!

Well Horace, it all started about a year ago when a friend called and told me he had felled a hackberry tree and I was welcome to the logs. I picked them up and put them into the woods behind my shop to spalt. About 8 or 9 months later they were spalted very nicely, but not punky, so I proceeded to cut pen blanks out of them. The blanks are dry now and I do have some for sale. Check out the personal classified forum.

Thanks,

That reminds me of how I started selling blanks (my curly spalted oak was already spalted though). That is a gorgeous pen and you should do well selling the blanks.
