A couple from tonight.

My first turnings since Christmas.

The first was one a friend requested. He wanted a "dark" pen and since I didn't have any black plastic I used African Blackwood and Black Titanium Olympia with CA finish (with some splotching):

The second was my second blank from the WoodCraft Heirloom Pens class on making segmented pens. This one is Amboyna burl and maple burl in a gold-titanium cigar with CA finish:

I'm kinda bummed at how badly the nib-side maple burl matches the maple-burl stripe. Oh well, can't complain about "free" wook. I do love the fact that this is my first CA finish that turned out 100%.

Both pens turned out very good Greg! you cant beat the free wood,l like the Olympia pen looks like a good kit' l must try it one day. []

But seriously, nice pens. I really like the choice of the black titanium plating with the blackwood.

Very nice work. The segmentation is really nice, and the finish on the cigar is really excellent. Good job!
