Just getting back into pen turning so starting with fairly straight forward Sierra pens from Axminster. One made with an ash blank, stained blue and finished with ca. The other is blue acrylic. It seems that the brass tube is giving this one a blue green hue which I like but presume colouring the tube before inserting into blank would change it slightly.
Apologies for the poor quality in the photo

Nice that you are getting back into "it". As you are aware, one always needs to pay attention to the brass tube when working with plastics. Unless it is from direct experience, the visual effects are frequently a factor, some times with unexpected results.

Congratulations on those two pens !!

Painting the inside of the hole (perhaps in addition to painting the tube) would stop the brass from showing through.
