Couple of Pheonix pens in Desert Ironwood

Was always interested in working a pen in Desert Ironwood. Was amazed at the ease of turning the wood and finishing it. Very similar to Bacote.

It's very dense, but it does turn like a dream, and polishes to a nice shine with no finish at all. Not that I'm saying not to put a finish on it, but you could.

My only complaint is that it smells like old dirt when you turn it.
