Inspired by some of the beautiful pens I have seen, I decided to try a couple of the techniques myself. They were a challenge, but overall I am pretty happy with how they turned out. Definitely a chore to keep the cuts even and uniform. Let me know what you think.
I did learn the importance of wood color selection on the twisted pen. The orange died wood contrasts the base wood nicely, but there just wasn't a pen finish that looked good with it. Tried Gold, Chrome, Platinum and even copper. The Gold looked the best - but definitely not a good match up.
