The first one is made from redwood Burl with an Ebony Centerband with buried finial. The second pen is made from an interesting piece of Buckeye Burl with aluminum centerband. CA/BLO finish on both. Thanks for looking.

The sunken finial is very cool and the ebony center band sets of the redwood burl nicely. Very nice work.

The buckeye burl is a very nice blank, I'm not so sure about the center band though. It looks a little out of place so low.

I'm not too sure about the buckeye one either. It is a really interesting piece of wood, and I wanted to show off the grain without interruption. But I think the low centerband and aluminum embelishment did exactly what I was trying to avoid.
