Three pens I did this weekend. The first is an order. Desert Ironwood with Turquoise inlays.

The second is a Buckeye burl I was making when I discovered some really big voids. so....I got the turquoise out again. This one is going in my personal collection.

Third is a new centerband kit that Ken Nelsen is making. It's also a special order done in Holly. The CB kit comes with the blue dyed CB a dozen stars and 6 bands. Two of each in red, blue and natural.

I'm thinking my pictures still need work...they look really dark on my monitor

Mike,

As always, VERY nice work. The centerband is really cool, opens a whole new market.

And, your application of turquoise is also excellent, although I am particularly fond of Desert Ironwood, so it would not be MY first choice. (Maybe Walnut???)
But, nice execution!!

What is the finish on it,if I may ask?
John, the finish is Russ Fairfields CA/BLO finish, I'm still getting it down and sometimes it doesn't work quite the way I'd like, so it takes a little longer.

They're all really well done, but the first two are definitely the best of the three and it would be hard to choose between them.
