I finially finished a couple of firsts last night. Sorry about the photo quality, it was late when I scanned these in and all I wanted to do was go to bed ;)

The first is a Designer letter opener. The wood is hard maple that has been "dyed" blue with a sharpie.

The second is a Big Ben in Tulip wood with a Poly & TSW finish.

Ryan,
Both are RELY nice! Didn't know you could "dye" with a Sharpie.
My Wife just bought a boxed set of Sharpies in every color they make. Hmmmmmm, wonder if she'll notice any missing?

Thanks for the comliments. I can't take credit for the sharpie, I know I heard about it on the IAP!

Fred, the Poly is the "wipe-on" kind that "dries" in about 30 min. I put 2 coats on 1 hour apart let set overnight, then 2 more coats. I did not want the real shiny finish, so I just lightly buffed then applied TSW.
