I grabbed a piece of a well seasoned cottonwood limb bound to be firewood from a coworker's truck. I ruined the first piece trying to assemble a poorly made cigar kit. The wood on that one was a little better looking, but I can't complain about this one since it was from scrap wood. Second is an attempt at a modified slimline using slimline and teacher's pen parts. It is Paduk and ?.

Wow Jeremy, nice job!!! The fit looks perfect on both pens. Like my grandpa use to say "You can make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear". You definitely did that with the first pen.

Beautiful piece of wood and nice fit. I don't really like the shape of the upper barrel, but that is why there is a Macys and a Gimbels.
