I turned this stabilized cob pretty early in my pen making days... I was really happy with how it turned out, but I had no clue how to finish it. A friend of mine had told me about using super glue as a finish, but he knew nothing about it, and neither did I.... So, rather than doing a little research, I grabbed the super glue outta the junk drawer, smeared it ALL over the cob, and after it dried, I sanded and buffed it. I'm still amazed that it turned out looking half way decent... Sometimes ya just gotta laugh at yourself! haha

This one has sentimental value, so it's in the "I'm keeping" case... :)

Thanks for looking!

Gene

Can't beat innocence sometimes. Now you will read all about CA (super Glue) finishes and none will look nearly as good as this one. DAMHIKT.

Since then I have done several CA finishes (the correct way lol) on wood, but have not tried another cob... It's definitely on my list of "to do again"! :)

That looks great. Sometimes you just have to jump into the deep end to get yourself swimming. Looks like you swam and didn't drown good job.
