I was very happy with how this turned out. I received the blank from Tom Stone / Beyond Wood Products and was excited to turn the blank. I was originally going to use a Cambridge but settled on a Continental from Woodcraft. I personally like the kit a great deal and am hoping my wife cannot sell the pen.
The blank is big leaf maple burl and resin. The kit, as mentioned previously, is a Woodcraft Continental in gold.
I used a CA finish but the pen has quite a few more coats than the cap due to me not paying attention to my measurements. Both the cap and the pen have 12 coats of thin. The cap has 12 additional coats of Medium while the pen has an additional 25-30 coats medium.
