Hey Jan? Isn't the emblem on wrong?

In my mind...........the anchors should be at 45 degrees on the pen.
Of course......that is what this Marine remembers.......but then I am an old "Uncle Sams Misguided Children" from the 70's.

LOL

Painted Pen

I am new to pen turning but am having a blast doing it. Here is a new creation. I am also a painter so I am trying to incorporate painting. Here are two attempts.

This first one is based on a painting I did. You can see the painting and the pen.

The second one is one i painted and then carved into. These are a lot of fun to make because i get to incorporate painting into pen making. Argo13 has been a great teacher so thanks.

Nice Coast Guard pen. Realy top pocket. So sharp. Really hits the spot.
I have to ask. I have been looking for some U.S. Marine pens of the same style. If you know where I can get blanks to turn that would be great. Some how I have been blessed by knowing a number of good men and women who have served. I have always wanted to make them a pen.
