A few weeks ago, I found out a lady in my department has a nephew stationed in Afghanistan. While on patrol, 3 members of the unit, including Ian, were injured. Thankfully, none of them serious enough to transported out of country. Ian spent 6 weeks in recovery and rehab to repair the damage to his hip. He is now back with his unit on light duty.
In honor of his service and sacrifice, I sent him this pen. It is a 308 cartridge, 165 grain GMX-30 bullet, and Purple Heart (of course).
