Colorfull Cocobolo

I was cutting up some Cocobolo and this caught my eye. CA finish

Very nice Alton! I love cocobolo, but it sure make you earn the finished product with its smell, oils and trying to finish it. I just wish it wouldn't darken with age.

Very nice Alton. I got a "short" in a batch from you that was spectacular, but the finish made it too dark and took the edge off. Turned a skinny heart/sap blank from the same batch last night that will dress a comfort hardware--i'm undecided on whether to spray lacquer or just give it a wax--or go back to CA. That's a nice batch of coco you have!!

I really like cocobolo, but can't use it at the center because of the allergy problem. I found some really pretty Macacauba (granadillo) the other day, that is close to cocobolo in color and grain, but doesn't have the allergy factor.

Unfortunately, kingwood, like tulipwood and cocobolo itself is now "endangered" and getting really hard to find.
