Did you ever have bits of coffee bean explode away from the blank, or ruin any blanks?

Did you have to make multiple passes with CA to fill voids and cracks as you turned?

Was wondering if you used any pressure during the curing of the acrylic?

This one's polyester. Can stuff be cast in acrylic?

Anyway, I'm too tight to splash out for a pressure pot. Instead, I soak the beans for a couple of weeks in polyester resin thinned down with acetone before I cast them.

I honestly don't know if this porcess makes any difference whatsoever; it's just the way I've always done it!

Yes. each time i do this, I lose maybe 4 partial beans. I never call the blank "ruined" though.

Nope. Once I have the shape I want, I fill the voids (they're usually quite tiny - smaller than a half bean) with a paste of coffee grounds and CA. It works quite well.
