Bought by a coworker for her dad. This is the first cocobolo I've turned. All the pictures of this kit had it paired with a lighter wood. The cocobolo looked pretty plain on the outside but was very colorful inside, what looked to be purple and yellow. Then the finish made it all brown again :)

Nice pen. Very nice. The cocobolo coloring is a nice complement to the brass tone of the pen centerband. What finish ? Your first sale ?

Nice pen. As you may or may not know many turners become very sensitive to turning Cocobolo so make sure you have good dust collection and do not inhale the dust or allow prolonged skin contact with the dust. Not trying to scare you but just be safe. Another wood that you might like is Bocote, especial some of the birds eye burl blanks. Nice golden brown color with light and dark accents.
