I have had this pen in the back of my mind for a couple of weeks.
I don't know if this has been done before or not.
It took a couple a lot of work but I am finally ready to show it off.
The Kit is Chrome Sierra.
The wood is Osage Orange.
Finish is Woodturners Finish from Behlen.

This is my second closed end pen and the first with a hidden clip.
I also got to learn how to make my first Pin Chuck.

Here is a close up of the clip. Is this hidden clip or recessed?
This is not the best type of clip for doing this and that created a lot of extra work.

All information on how to do this was found in the Library as posted by others much more experienced than me. If this gets you motivated I would suggest looking there for inspiration and instructions.

Good question Gerry.
It is a little longer. 5-5/8 vs. the standard 5-3/16. This makes it about the same length as a cigar.
The first <s>attempt</s> Prototype was too thin where I transitioned to the finial and I ended up breaking through to the end of the hole for the tube. I gave this one some extra length to make sure.
