i was happy with my chrome bits, and gold bits, and even the silver bits. everything was good in the world, but then i thought. hey. i could try a closed end pen. everyone's doin it. and hey, i needed a drill chuck for my lathe anyway. so i decided to try it. and here is the worst part of it all... i kinda liked it. so the pen turned out good. a few problems but it was definitely a learning experience. thanks guys for the inspiration.
what next a kitless? hmmmmm
as i side note. i did something else today that i've never done before. being that this needed to be turned separately i thought i would make good use of my time and assemble the bottom end while the ca was drying on the lid, well i applied a coat on the lid and went to the pen not realizing that i had spilled ca down my fingers. well i glued myself to my pen,. i always thought that i put a little bit of myself into ever pen i made. i sure did on this one.
the other pictures are some more for a christmas order. i don't usually work with oak but really wanted to keep the costs down as i'm giving him a really good deal.
