I'm not real happy how this one turned out.....I think the blank slipped on the closed end mandrel, I just had to show it for the crazy beautiful oak....

Thanks for the comments, the fit on the cap is not perfect, that's why unhappy. It is a beautiful piece of wood though, a little spalting in it too....

If you're looking for ideas, I think that the grain in the blank is so captivating that the burn rings actually detract from the overall beauty of the wood.

Just my two cents, for what its worth.

Oops,
I was trying to distract from the bottom of the cap, you got my point! I agree with you, that was not the plan....
